Google launches Google Clips wireless smart camera

Google has launched its $249.99 “life-blogging” camera, Google Clips, from its website. The camera automatically captures photos and videos, and uses AI learning and facial recognition to recognize important people. The camera is 50mm tall, has a 130-degree field of view lens and 16GB of storage. Connection is by Bluetooth, WiFi and USB-C connector.

According to Google, “Google Clips features Moment IQ, a machine learning algorithm that’s smart enough to recognize great expressions, lighting and framing.”

Google Clips follows in the footsteps of other attempts to create an always-on, unattended photography experience. Let’s hope Google has more success than the now-defunct Narrative Clip.
